Architectural photography emphasizes capturing photographs of buildings and similar architectural structures that are both aesthetically pleasing and accurate.

 

Documentary photography is used to chronicle events or environments both significant and relevant to history, historical events as well as everyday life.

 

Fashion photography displays clothing and fashion items; it is most often conducted for advertisements or fashion magazines. Clothes and fashions might be enhanced by the presence of exotic locations or accessories.

 

Fine art nude photography depicts the nude human body with an emphasis on form, composition, emotional content, and other aesthetic qualities. Erotic interest, although often present, is secondary.

 

Landscape photography shows spaces within the world, sometimes vast, other times microscopic; it typically captures the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes.

Portrait photography aims toward capturing the personality of a person or group of people by using effective lighting, backdrops, and poses.

Street photography is conducted for art or enquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places; it does not necessitate the presence of the urban environment or of people.
